I have attended TUMC on and off for the past 40 years. I was married by Rev. Manthey in 1980. I have since divorced, however both my children were baptized by Rev. Manthey and went to Sunday School here. Unfortunately my son passed away in 2000 but my daughter was married in 2004 by Rev. Manthey; all of these life occurrences have happened through this wonderful, warm, welcoming church.
My mother, Ann Hill (now Williams) was married here. Hence to say; this church has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I have worked full time at Price Modem, in Baltimore, for the past 32 years. When my Mom moved back to the area and started working at TUMC once again, I too started working in the Nursery, as a way to make sure we connected at least once a week. Then a year or so later, I started teaching Sunday School to the preschoolers and now all of the elementary children. This led to the offer to become the Director of Children’s Ministries.
On a personal note, my daughter Jenn and her husband Mike are currently stationed in Japan. I absolutely adore my 2 granddaughters, Anastasia and Lucia. I facetime with them as much as I can. Some of my other pleasures include, sewing, reading, playing with my two dogs, and lounging by the pool during the summer.
